Solar heat installations impose significantly higher demands on installation materials than conventional heating systems. Particularly on sunny days, very high system temperatures may occur. Because of their ability to withstand heat, copper tubes and copper fittings are therefore particularly suitable for use in solar heating installations. As well as capillary soldered fittings as per DIN EN 1254 Part 1 and DVGW Working Document GW 6 and GW 8, press fittings which are suitable for solar installation as per DVGW Working Document W 534 and threaded clamping ring connections as per DIN EN 1254 Part 2 and DVGW Working Document W 534 can also be used (observe manufacturer`s instructions). Our recommendation for an unreleasable connection is the brazing technique. The use of releasable connections may be advantageous in areas that are difficult to gain access to. When using insulating materials, it should be ensured that these materials are able to withstand the elevated temperatures.
