SANCO and WICU tubes can be used for town and natural gas as per TRGI 86/96. They are licensed for this application by the DVGW and therefore bear the DVGW tested mark. If particular demands are imposed on the external resistance to corrosion of the pipelines, we recommend the use of WICU tubes with the protective plastic coating. WICU tubes satisfy the demands imposed on external resistance to corrosion as per DIN 30672 Part 1. Connection points are to be further insulated using suitable corrosion-resistant bindings or appropriately licensed shrink-fit hoses. Brazing and pressing using press fittings licensed by the DVGW for the gas sector are used as unreleasable connecting techniques.
Cold bending of copper tubes for gas installation is acceptable. Suitable bending equipment which can be used to produce perfect bends which are free of cracks, creases, kinks and slip lines should be used for bending. The minimum bending radii as per DIN EN 1057 and DVGW working document (Annex to GW 392) are to be observed.
